Hyatt Regency Danang Residences is a set of apartments and villas inside a 5-star beachfront resort complex in Da Nang, backed by Gaw NP Capital and operated by Hyatt Hotels & Resorts™. The website serves high-end buyers in Vietnam and abroad, and it has to follow the brand guideline of a global hotel brand.
A conflicting brief: perfect photos on a page that can't be slow
Resort real estate sells through images. The brand photo set was shot and retouched with care. Compress it hard and the colors of a sunset over the sea turn flat, which loses the very thing you are selling. Keep the original files and the page weighs tens of MB, so visitors leave before the images appear.
Most of the effort on this project went into reconciling those two demands, more than into features. The approach has three layers:
- Each display slot has its own image size: the hero, the grid thumbnails and the full-screen gallery images are cropped in advance to the exact size they need, instead of sharing one file that the browser scales down
- Compression levels tested per image group instead of one global setting: detailed interior shots tolerate stronger compression than sunset photos with smooth color gradients
- Lazy-loading that follows real scrolling: images in the first viewport load right away, the rest wait
Content structured by product type
Apartments, villas and resort amenities are three different kinds of content, and they shouldn't share one page template.
A property page needs the floor plan, area, number of rooms and view, the information buyers use to decide. An amenity page (pool, spa, restaurant) leans toward storytelling: large images, little text, a magazine-style layout. The two page types use separate templates and share only the design system.
The consultation request form goes straight to the sales team. It sits at the bottom of every property page, right where the visitor has just finished reading and is weighing the decision.
Working within an international brand guideline
With a brand like Hyatt, colors, fonts, logo spacing and project naming all have written rules. That constraint saves time, because nobody argues about aesthetics on gut feeling.
